East Bridge University Launches Gender Access Tracking System to Strengthen Women’s Participation in Higher Education

How EBU’s new Gender Access Tracking System is redefining equity, empowering first-generation women, and shaping a more inclusive future in global education.

At East Bridge University (EBU), gender equality has never been just a statement on paper. It has always been a living part of who we are and how we work. And today, that commitment has taken a meaningful step forward with the launch of our new Gender Access Tracking System—a tool designed to help us truly understand the journeys of the women who study with us. It gives us clearer insight into where women are thriving, where they need more support, and how we can continue opening doors for learners everywhere.

This system doesn’t simply gather numbers. It helps us see people. And by tracking application trends, acceptance patterns, and academic progress, we can act early, respond thoughtfully, and make sure that gender equity is always intentional and never accidental.

Supporting First-Generation Women Learners

Behind many of the applications we receive lies a story of courage—especially for the 296 first-generation women who are now enrolled at EBU. These women are stepping into something new for themselves and their families. And we want that step to feel supported, not overwhelming.

That is why we offer outreach programs, personalised mentoring, and guidance throughout their academic journey. And we stay close, not only academically but emotionally, so that no one feels alone as they navigate university life for the first time. And because first-generation learners often carry unique pressures, our support is designed to meet them with patience, clarity, and consistent encouragement.

A Policy Framework That Puts Women First

Gender equality doesn’t thrive on intentions alone. It needs structure. And East Bridge University’s Access and Participation Policy creates that structure by helping us follow each stage of a student’s path—from application to graduation—with care and attention. We keep track of women’s acceptance trends, where they choose to enrol, and how they progress through their studies. And when we see gaps, we intervene early so that every student feels backed by a system that believes deeply in their success.

Expanding Opportunities Through Women’s Support Schemes

And while access matters, feeling ready matters even more. That’s why we continue strengthening our women-focused support schemes. Students benefit from dedicated mentorship, targeted scholarships, and outreach designed to encourage women to explore fields where they are still underrepresented. And in every interaction—whether through mentoring sessions or faculty guidance—we aim to build confidence and help women imagine academic and professional futures that feel both possible and exciting.

Women Graduates Excelling Across Disciplines

The impact is visible in the achievements of our graduates. Among our 55 graduates, 26 are women, and they represent a wide range of fields—from STEM to Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. And these women are not just completing degrees; they are shaping new narratives about what academic success looks like across disciplines. Their accomplishments remind us that when institutions open doors and offer consistent support, women rise—and when women rise, whole communities grow with them.

Family-Friendly Policies That Make Education Possible

We also recognise that education doesn’t happen in a vacuum. Many of our learners balance family life, work, and academic responsibilities all at once. And so EBU has created a compassionate, family-friendly environment that offers maternity and paternity support, free childcare for staff and faculty, and flexible online pathways for learners juggling multiple commitments. These policies make it possible for women to study without choosing between their personal responsibilities and their dreams.

Mentorship, Monitoring, and Meaningful Progress

And because confidence often grows when someone believes in you, more than 10% of our female students participate in women’s mentoring programs that connect them with successful alumnae and professionals. These relationships help students navigate challenges, build resilience, and feel grounded in community. And by tracking graduation outcomes for women and men, we ensure that no group is left behind—something reflected in our strong 96% overall completion rate.

Technology as a Force for Inclusion

Technology plays a powerful role in making learning more inclusive. Our AI-powered career-matching tools help reduce gender bias, and our flexible digital platforms support women studying from 89 countries, each with different schedules and circumstances. And through digital mentoring hubs and accessible online classrooms, technology becomes a bridge—one that brings learning, opportunity, and community within reach for more women than ever before.

A Future Built on Data, Equity, and Hope

The launch of the Gender Access Tracking System signals a new chapter in EBU’s work toward gender equality. It reminds us that progress is strongest when it is measured honestly, supported consistently, and fuelled by both data and empathy. And as we continue building an academic environment where every woman can pursue her goals without limitation, we remain guided by a simple belief: when education opens its doors wider, the world becomes a fairer place for everyone.
